7 August 2017, Singapore – Centre for Executive Education (CEE), an award winning and a premier network of established human resource development and consulting firms around the globe for the development of next generation of leaders, is launching a survey to identify the relevant competencies and skills required to successfully adapt to new realities when leading in a disruptive VUCA World.
Leading in the future would require managing challenges in a business environment that are highly disruptive and predominantly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA). Technological advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, sharing platforms and the Internet of Things are fundamentally altering business models and industries. Hence, as a result, organisational leadership itself needs to adapt to a brave new business world.
The Leadership Readiness for a Disruptive VUCA World research set out to answer one key question: what is the current state of leadership readiness in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region towards managing successfully in the disruptive, VUCA business environment?
“Leading in a VUCA world,” states Professor Sattar Bawany, Chief Executive Officer for CEE, “not only provides a challenging environment for leaders to operate and for an executive development programme to have an impact: it also provides a much-needed range of new competencies including critical thinking and cognitive readiness that are needed to equip them to think and act globally in a disruptive, VUCA business environment.
The current reality is that many leaders are not ready for the future and are even struggling with the disruptive pace of change we are experiencing now; particularly when considering the rise of new technologies and tools impacting business operations and human capital development in a more globalised and increasingly uncertain marketplace that many organisations operate in today.”
